January In Progress 2009

Italeri Western Star with Resin KTA600 engine, resin rear fenders, scratchbuilt rear bumper and light bar.  Rear suspension, axles, radiator are painted with Alclad.  Custom made visors over headlights.  Filled the cab so it has no cab lights, horns, or door handles and made it into a day cab.    This truck is being built for a contest being held March 14, 2009 in Joplin, Missouri that our model club is hosting.  The commercial class trucks and trailers are being judge by the guys from Chrome Shop Mafia.  For more information on this show click this link = 4 State Modelers Club  or email us.   Jim Brown

This is a large scale Kenworth (1/16th) that I have been working on, unfortunately there is very little or no aftermarket parts for these beauties so I've had to scratch build the headache rack, toll boxes, wings on the sleeper, turning front end, will be making 1/2 fenders for the rear for it, have over 100 straight pins to represent bolt heads, keep adding to it.  Tim B

My tri drive I've started but can't decide on color or with or without the top.  Dave Rivers

More pics after paint, I know it's black and red again but I love the way the 2 colors look together.  I promise no more black and red for a while.  Dave Rivers

I mocked up my C-500 to show my progress.  Will start gluing it all together after the body is done.  Leo Vanderstelt

Started out with a a Can-Do kit, I added the extra drive axle and the lift axle, made the truck 4x4, I made the front diff out of parts I had and the cab is from an Italeri kit 377 Peterbilt.  I made the doors open up, that is something the kit didn't have.  The hood conversion is from AITM that I did alot of work to so it looked custom just like the truck I can go on.  Gary
