                Approximately a 8 1/2 month (Commissioned build) for a very large local road building/quarry outfit..consists (2) DM600 kits, (1) IH Paystar Mixer kit, rubber hood latches and tires from Jamie (mo-Luminum)..engine and bullet lights grom the Mack Cruiserliner kit, along with the rear and lift axle rims...front rims from Freightliner cabover, made of resin (casted), battery box from the Pete 378, rubber flaps from Sourkraut, decals are from ME, R-model updated dash (custom) hose and nozzle from Dave (AITM) genuine Mack paint (red/white/black)..hydraulic tank (Autocar Dump), a ton of scratch-built items and heavily modified items.  Had it's challenges.  Kurt McLucas

        It's based on a built up Mack DM600 which I received from a friend many years ago.  It sat in a box until I decided what to do with it.  I stripped it down and added the rear section frame rails from the DM800 which are found in the paystar mixer kit.  I relocated the water tank for a more modern look and moved the rear axles to the back.  It still has working rear suspension since I fabricated an aluminum driveshaft to replace the shorter kit one.  Decals were a combination of homemade and Sourkraut mixer decals.  I used the wider Italeri float tires on the front with some modification of the kit rim and Italeri tire rings and modified the exhaust.  Now that the reissue DM600 is out I plan on doing more Mack Mixers.  Mike

              Lance Gregory used aging techniques on Revell-Monogram's 1927 Mack A/C to produce this rust bucket used in the A.T.E.A.M. truck display.  The finish is Floquil and Testor's Rust.

          This was my first build since childhood approximately 2 1/2 years ago.  I actually owned this truck while I was in the excavating business.  Kurt McLucas

  I've added hydro lines and "greased" it up a bit (after all it is a mechanics truck), added a hydro filter also, do decals as I didn't get any with it.  If anybody has some from the kit I'd love to have them.  Leo Vanderstelt
